We Aspire to Build a Stronger Community

The Oshkosh Civility Project is an ad hoc community-based group.  We are advancing the cause of civility in order to enhance interpersonal effectiveness in order to build and strengthen the social fabric of our shared community.  Operating in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, we seek to help individuals and organizations explore and develop affirming approaches that enhance civility.

Vision

To encourage a community culture of civility that values the opinions and ideas of others in thoughtful and considerate ways.

Mission

To promote the principles of civility in everyday life through education, imitation, and community engagement.

Goals

  • Educate:  Educate the community with a clear and consistent   message.  This will be accomplished by developing and implementing “train the trainer” sessions so presenters are able to feel confident in the message.
  • Marketing:  Continue to spread the work of civility through community engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor:  Discover ways to monitor success and/or effectiveness of the Oshkosh Civility Project.

Wisconsin is becoming CIVIL-ized!

Oshkosh

We learned from Dr. P. M. Forni and from community-based efforts in Tahoe-Truckee and Duluth-Superior.  We have worked with many other communities.  Waukesha,  Fond du Lac.  Neenah.  Appleton.  Green Bay.  Madison.
